The Anthem begins at the pool. A hand-painted mural wraps the deck in the lines of a soundwave, the visual shorthand for the beat of a concert and the roar of a stadium, and the Soundwave Pool Bar sits inside it. The idea is simple and the hotel commits to it: an outsized pool and jacuzzi in the middle of the property, and a mood meant to shift with the crowd, from the intensity of a big game one night to the pulse of a live show the next.

The Anthem

The building is older than the neighbourhood's current fame. It dates from 1961 at 3900 West Century Boulevard and was refreshed after a change of ownership, opening in February 2026 as part of Hilton's Tapestry Collection. Chartres Lodging Group owns it and PM Hotel Group manages it, and the hotel calls itself the first lifestyle hotel in the Stadium District.

Nobody checks in for a tasting menu; they check in to be fed between kick-off and curtain call.

Built for game nights

The position is the pitch. The Anthem is steps from the Intuit Dome and close to SoFi Stadium, the Kia Forum and the YouTube Theater, with LAX about ten minutes away and the beach about twenty. The hotel describes itself as part of the action, with game-day and concert-night events that start and end under its own roof.

The Anthem

The rooms are set up for both halves of that. Art nods to music, shades are blackout-ready for anyone sleeping off a late show, and workspaces are ergonomic with high-speed Wi-Fi for anyone with a morning to get through. Bathrooms carry Gilchrist & Soames amenities, and there is a fitness centre for the day after.

The suites to book

The Anthem's best idea is its run of themed suites, each tied to a moment in the district's calendar. The Homecourt Suite, curated by Harry Ling, founder of the sportswear brand Qore, opened for NBA All-Star Weekend with sporting keepsakes, old-school pieces and a homage to the Clippers.

Book the Soccer Legends Suite for the detail. Unveiled in June, ahead of the summer tournament, it has a goal-shaped headboard, turf-inspired touches and a tribute wall carrying Tony Sanneh's US national team jersey, a game-worn jersey from DaMarcus Beasley, Hall of Fame scarves and custom embroidered cleats worn by Landon Donovan. Sanneh, Joe-Max Moore and Jeff Agoos, all National Soccer Hall of Famers, cut the ribbon, and a portion of bookings goes to the Sanneh Foundation, the youth charity Sanneh founded after leaving the LA Galaxy, while guests who book the suite receive a welcome gift from the foundation's partner Cymbiotika.

The newest is the Football Legacy Suite, announced in September and counting down to Super Bowl LXI at SoFi Stadium on 14 February 2027. Los Angeles hosted the first big game at the Memorial Coliseum on 15 January 1967, and the suite looks back from there: a helmet display for teams with four or more titles, footballs for those with three or more wins, archival photographs, team flags and pennants, a field-inspired rug and a PlayStation 5 loaded with Madden NFL for anyone who wants to replay history.

Tom's Watch Bar, and the roof

Tom's Watch Bar runs the hotel's food and drink, the sports-bar brand's nineteenth location. Expect wall-to-wall screens, chef-driven game-day menus and craft cocktails, which is the right register: nobody checks in here for a tasting menu. Overnight guests on the Game Day Getaway package can join the poolside pep rally the day before a match and the tailgate that gets going four hours ahead of kickoff, with a bar, food stations, cornhole and beer pong and a DJ, before fans walk together to SoFi. The package also includes credit for grab-and-go snacks and drinks.

The Stage is the rooftop, where skyline views come with cocktails and live acts, and Backstage, an indoor lounge beside it, can serve as a private dining room or a pre-show space for performers. When Lady Gaga played the Kia Forum, the hotel turned its pool-deck space into a glam headquarters for guests, with a DJ playing her songs, dramatic make-up and a beauty lounge. Programming is planned through the Olympic and Paralympic Games of 2028. It is the kind of thing that sounds unlikely on paper and makes sense on Century Boulevard.

On the doorstep

There is little to wander past here, which is the point, and the walking is of the stadium kind. Walk to the Intuit Dome, to SoFi Stadium and to the Kia Forum, and let the stadium district do the rest. LAX is about ten minutes away for an early flight, and the beach about twenty for a slow morning. The district has been rebuilt around its arenas in the last decade, and The Anthem is a hotel that admits it.

Early on a match evening, with the light going orange over the stadium roofs and the pool bar filling with people in team colours, the soundwave on the wall seems less like decoration than a forecast.
